EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL ALTERNATIVE USES

We love our organic and biodynamic extra virgin olive oil as the perfect finish and cooking fat for our meals. Yet there are many other things that we can do with it. For moisturising purposes, we recommend a high quality organic or biodynamic extra virgin olive oil as we would happily avoid unwanted substances on our skin and would love any purchase we make to be environmentally friendly.

See below a list of extra virgin olive oil uses you have never heard before.

Hair Nourishing Mask.

Every now and then, rub a few drops of organic or biodynamic extra virgin olive oil in your palms, and apply it to the length of your hair. If there is some product left on your hands, use it on the top of your hair to smooth down rebel hair. With a more generous amount you can do a pre-wash hair mask. After 30 minutes, wash as usual.

Skin moisturiser.

When you are at home, you can use organic and biodynamic extra virgin olive oil as a skin moisturiser. rub a few drops of organic or biodynamic extra virgin olive oil in your palms, and apply it on your face. Mind your clothes...and bedsheets if you use it as a night moisturiser :)

Shaving oil.

If shaving is in your checklist, same as above. Olive oil will help the razor blades glide on your skin.

Make-up Remover

Organic and biodynamic extra virgin olive oil works very well as a make-up remover.

Throat soothing balm.

Organic olive oil helps calming the itchy sensation typical of a sore throat. It also helps if you’ll be the main speaker at a meeting or event.

Cuticles.

Organic olive oil is great to moisturise cuticles. You can soak your hands in a solution of warm water and 2 tbs of olive oil in a bowl before your manicure. It will soften the cuticles and moisturise your hands.

Intimate moisturiser.

Organic olive oil is a great intimate moisturiser. Don’t use with condoms!

Squeaking hinges.

Olive oil is great to oil hinges and zippers.

Steel and copper polisher.

Clean the surface you want to polish. Once it is perfectly dry, pour some drops of olive oil on a rag and wipe the surface. Remove the oil in excess with a paper towel.

Remove paint stains from your hands.

Rub your hands with olive oil and sugar or salt to remove stains of paint from your hands. It will leave your skin clean and soft.

Remove labels and stickers.

Apply some olive oil on stubborn labels and stickers you want to remove and rub it away after a few minutes.
