Organic & biodynamic Saba (Cooked Grape Juice), single estate, 100% Italian, from Modena. Produced following the traditional Romans' method of cooking freshly crushed grape juice on direct flame for two/three days until it is reduced to 25% of its original volume. It is a sort of Grape syrup with no added sugar.
Saba is a delicious condiment whose recipe has been handed down to us by the Romans who called it “Sapa” (in Italy it is still called Saba). It has a thick texture and it's sweet and fruity with a hint of sourness that makes it a terrific match for ice creams, yogurt and desserts and can be used as a sweetener in baking and chocolate making. You can use it on your porridge, granola, pancakes, waffles, cheese, meat and salads. Gluten free (no starch added). No sugar added. Suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians.
